The Golden Rule for Couponing.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!"

I have something I would like to make note of - please be courteous when couponing. Be courteous to the cashier (even if they are not to you) be courteous to the other customers (even if they are not with you) and be courteous to other couponers. I usually tell the cashier up front - I have a stack of coupons. Let them know ahead of time. I very rare get a rude cashier. I also try to walk up to the line in a very kind way, speaking to them. If I have alot of coupons or if I have alot of transactions I try to wait until no one is in line or if they are some people behind me - let them go ahead of you. Then the last thing....if you coupon - please do not clear off the shelves!! This is a pet peeve of mine and extreme couponing on TLC encourages it. I, on the other hand, do not. I believe it is selfish. In order for everyone to enjoy couponing, we must be thoughtful of others couponing too. I walked into Walgreens the other day in a certain town and alot of the good deals were cleaned out - they also had posted a note to the rack stating they reserve the right to limit your quantity! This was a Monday afternoon; the sales just started Sunday morning. That is within 24 hours the shelves were cleaned out! Now when I speak of cleaning off the shelf - I am talking about buying 5,6,7 or MORE of the same items. Now do not get me wrong - I have no problem stocking up on an item when it is on sell; but I will tell you that if I need the last 5 bottles on the shelf - then I will split my trips into 2. Meaning, I will buy a few now and then go to another store or wait a few days then go back. Another idea is this  - if you want alot of the same items, then speak with the manager. I have heard of other couponers ask the manager if they will order extra of ever how many they want to buy - that way they do not clear off the shelf as soon as they get it stocked. Even if you are couponing for a good cause - meaning your buy free items to donate to the needy families, please still do not clear off the shelf. If you are the one that coupons for a cause, then speak with your store manager. I am sure they would be more then happy to help you with your good cause.  Just a few courteous reminders for everyone.
